Middlewick & Turncole Wind Farms

Wind Farm Planning Inquiry expert witness services on two occasions for Maldon District Council. These were the second and third commercial wind farm cases in relatively close proximity proposed on the reclaimed marshes arable farmland of the Dengie Peninsula. Major issues considered were landscape sensitivity, the accuracy of photomontage illustrations, cumulative effects and residential amenity.

In addition to the basic defence of the Council's decisions to refuse planning permission another important objective was to address the tangible risk of cost awards. The appeals were upheld in both cases, but there were no applications for costs.
