Located a stone's throw away from the Olympic park in Fish Island, this distinctive first phase redevelopment delivers 30 homes as part of the LLDC Neighbourhood Centre Masterplan. Nigel Cowlin Ltd responsibility on this project was to deliver designs for the generous street spaces and amenity roof areas provided within the development. The street spaces are predominantly hard surfaced and the design draws cues from the warehouse/yard heritage of the area. They are aimed to be a truly flexible space integrating movable seating and street furniture providing for evening and weekend social uses as well as day time business activities, encouraging an active ground floor commercial frontage. Podium deck and communal roof spaces are broken down to create smaller rooms with high quality materials and a striking planting strategy.
