Westwood Bungalow
A large replacement dwelling proposal in a sensitive location high on the Stour Valley slopes within the Dedham Vale AONB. For this case Nigel Cowlin Ltd provided a Landscape and Visual Appraisal supported by photomontage work as well as landscape mitigation and enhancement proposals. The positioning of the new dwelling, as well as material finishes and colour choices were also influenced by this work. The change from a bungalow to a large 2 storey house was carefully managed in order to create an appropriate visual appearance with minimal impact in the landscape.
The planning application was scrutinised by AONB officers as well as the Local Planning Authority. Planning permission was granted for the scheme and the house is now built and occupied. Nigel Cowlin Ltd went on to provide detailed landscape scheme drawings for the discharge of planning condition requirements.
