Boars Tye Road

For this project Nigel Cowlin Ltd provided input to the development strategy and prepared a Landscape & Visual Appraisal for an Outline Planning application. With a successful outcome the site was sold on, but we were retained to assist with landscape design aspects of the Reserved Matters and planning condition discharge procedures. This included an overarching landscape strategy / masterplan together with detailed hard and soft landscape proposals and management prescriptions for open space elements of the scheme.

Silver End was conceived as a Model Village made in the 1920's for the workers of the Crittall Windows Factory. The Boars Tye Road development is designed to be respectful of the special character of the community. The houses are laid out in a regular fashion and overlooking a formally presented frontage open space. This space also provides a set back softening the influence of the development on the transition into the village.

Preparations are under way for construction of the development.
