Nigel Cowlin Ltd is a Landscape Architecture practice specialising in landscape assessment and related consultancy services for planning and development cases.

The company is owned and run by Nigel Cowlin. Nigel is a Chartered Landscape Architect with over 30 years’ professional experience in landscape assessment and design. His experience has been divided between public and private sectors, with a particular focus on planning and development.
Nigel’s primary focus is landscape assessment inputs to planning and development cases, providing advice on development shaping as well as the credentials of the case in terms of character and appearance considerations. He has extensive experience as a landscape and visual issues expert witness for planning hearings and inquiries.

All of Nigel’s landscape assessment work is aided by inhouse expertise in GIS systems including computer model visibility mapping and, where appropriate, his landscape assessment work is also supported by in-house produced approximate photowire/photomontage visualisations.
Nigel acts as the principal consultant on every commission, and will confidently advise and guide both developer and local authority clients on landscape assessment considerations and processes for planning and development cases of all sizes and at every stage of the process.
